Garmin eTrex Summit

Just got a set of GPS units for my kiddies/classes - trying to figure out some of the features of the handheld I chose (as suggested for the program my classes are participating in)...

Considering getting one for myself...

Anyone use the Garmin eTrex Summit for biking/log their rides?

Almost everyone I have seen uses a Garmin Edge series unit to be their cycling GPS/ trainer/ supercomputer.

The functions it has are more cycling specific than the Etrex series. Which is best for you will depend on what you are looking for the unit to primarily do.

I use the eTrex Venture HC for biking and hiking. I used to upload them to Garmin's Motionbased when it was a free service. Now they've switched over to Garmin Connect or something and it a pay service. I will subscrib eventually but don't have a need for it now.
