125mm drop. 30.9mm. Not working bc mechanism seems badly corroded. If you want to tinker, use for spare parts or send for rebuild - it's all yours. I'm in Madison and I'll be at Sourlands friday.

George, that's the 2nd gen fox post. Fox is warrantying all 2nd gen posts free of charge no matter how old they are. It will come back with new internals and work better than new. Send it in and keep it as a back up. I just got mine back about 2 months ago and it's been great ever since.

Seriously?!? Thanks, I will look into this. Love that my local shop didnt know/didn't tell me that and wanted to sell be a brand new one for $300 when i got one from Fox direct for $100.

Yeah, Kyle from Belmar bikes told me that Fox’s supplier of seals sent them faulty ones for that dropper and it was causing lots of failures. That’s the reason they are warranting all of them free of charge with new internals.

I bought mine in 2022 and it started having issues right away. Fox warrantied it and it was fine for close to a year then started having problems again. Fox told me that even though it was past the initial warranty and passed the 6 months service warranty period, that they used the old seals during the first repair so it qualified for another repair with new 2024 internals.

It’s been amazing since. It pops up nicely even if it’s just an inch down. In the past I had to manually raise it that last inch.

Fox is also replacing X2 shocks for the same reason. I think years 21 to 23.
I bought a bike 6 months ago with a Performance version that was “slurping” from new. For replaced it with a Factory version free of charge.

pretty sure this came stock on my Pivot in 2018/19 so not sure this is from the same gen? though i may have replaced it once already, can't remember.

So I contacted Fox and here's what they sent me. Based on this, I don't think it's gonna be free for me (because it's probably been more than a year since a purchase or 18mo since a service) so it'll cost me $115 plus shipping and I just bought a brand new one for $110. Gonna double check my receipts and the LBS records but I think this is still going to be offered up as free here.

Fox service center guidelines:

o FOX will assess the MY2021-2023 Transfer seat post, once received at our service center, and determine if it qualifies for warranty support.

o If your MY2021-2023 Transfer post was purchased less than one year ago (based on original owner proof of purchase) or has been serviced within the past 18 months (proof of purchase and service receipt must be submitted), FOX will repair the product, and at their discretion determine what charges, if any, will be applied. If product qualifies for warranty support, return shipping will be provided at no-charge.

o If your MY2021-2023 Transfer post was purchased more than one year ago (based on original owner proof of purchase) and/or has not been serviced in the past 18 months, then you will be charged by FOX Factory to repair the post. Service will install the MY2024 Transfer service parts kit updates.

o The FOX Factory Service Transfer post charge will be $115.00.

This info seems to have changed recently then. When I spoke to fox service, they told me that all 2nd gen posts will be warrantied due a known issue… “after they are assessed.” Proof of purchase was required.

still have this and can deliver to JORBA movie fundraiser tomorrow, or JorbaFest later this month
