Fox Fork Problem

When I had my Fox Talus 32 RLC serviced last year the shop tech told me that some of the internal parts are worn and I might want to send it to Fox for a complete rebuild. They also said that since its a 2006 Fox may not be able to repair it and would offer a discount towards a new one. I let it go for a year but now my shock is stuck it the lowest travel setting of the 100/120/140mm travel settings. Should I send it to Fox, Push or just get a new one? I think they said it might be $400 for the rebuild and was the reason I waited.

if you shop around you can find a brand new fork for less that $400. if youre fitting it on a 2006 frame, youll have to search pretty hard to find something with a straight steer tube though.

Yes, good luck. Been keeping my eye open for a straight steerer fork with TA, theyre few abd far between these days. They pop up on ebay now and then.

This fork is for a 26" wheeled bike so it might be hard to find one. I called both Fox and Push today. They say that the fork is old and will need to be upgraded to a newer system. Keeping a Talus will be more than converting to a float (no control over suspension height) which is ok with me. If no other major problems, the cost will be $250-280 plus shipping. Sounds like the way to go. Push did not seem to think they would be able to tune the fork any differently then Fox since it is an older fork. I will probably just send it to Fox.
