For my fellow "rim brakers"

I wanted to start a forum for all my vintage riders out there, those of you still on 10+ year old bikes, rocking 26" rims and stopping with rim brakes. Show off those old school rides, bring up any maintenance or parts questions you may have.. Keep those vintage rides rollin!!!

I've got 3 old school rides, they have been upgraded with 10x1 drive trains and newer components but are all still on 26" rims w/rim brakes. I've tried a 29er and a 27.5, and both times I preferred my old 26ers.. better control

Double-retro: coaster brake in the back. It is a surprisingly nimble bike, for what it is. Too bad nobody runs a coaster-brake challenge anywhere near here.

Here's my 1998 Litespeed Hiwaseee. Crappy pick on a rainy day. It still see's lots of miles acting as my "road bike". V Brakes, Mavic 517's, radial laced front wheel, both wheels with Chris king hubs At the time the 3" travel Judy SL "Long Travel" was pretty happening lol. 23.5 lbs. Had to replace the rear shock along the way after the original crapped out.

'97 Gary Fisher HooKooEKoo - my first MTB. Mostly stock but recently converted to SS with the help of Paul at Hilltop Bikes Madison. Still working on getting it trail-worthy by spring but good for neighborhood jaunts as-is. Sat dormant in my parents' garage for way too long.

I still have my '97 IF Deluxe, but it's a bit buried in the attic right now. I do have plans to get it back into working order, though. Along this vein, does anyone happen to have a late 90's Manitou fork in working condition they don't need?

My other "vintage" bike is my '98 Yeti Lawwill DH-6, although that has disc brakes.
