Fat Bike tubes

As previously stated, I have never been a tubeless guy, and do not see myself going that route. Last night I punctured the tube on the rear end on my Lou, as I approached the parking lt, the tailend began to feel very supple....damn.

Anywho, being it was late, and I did not have any tubes (need to purchase some fat tubes, I haven't flatted in years), I put a piece of packing tape on the hold in the tube (2x2" piece) so I could find the hole easily when I purchased a tube/patch today, anyhow, when I checked it this AM, the packing tape held!

I think I am going to ride it out and carry a spare with me, the fat tubes are so big the tape actually worked, now lets see if it will hold up.:hmmm:

It's the sticky adhesive, and re-inflating the tube that effectively seals it. Too big of a patch can prevent the tube expanding, but I don't know how big a fat bike tube actually is(!). for years my patch kit consisted of small electrical tape dots and crazy glue...
