Dragons are F'ing Awesome

Shit...SWWW was way to simple. I would have never gotten it.

Funny thing about pet owners and their pets. When the owner dies and the pets don't get fed, the cats always find a source of food. I've seen dogs die alongside their owners or eat the trash....but the cats quickly realize that their owners taste pretty good after a few days.

If you aren't feeling good and live alone, leave out some extra cat food so you can have an open casket.

are you kidding me?? dude, i need to hear about his.

and that right there is why dogs are better.

I shit you not. I had one that was so bad that we thought the woman was stabbed/slashed at first. At the autopsy, they figured out that they were just deep claw marks from kitty.

And cat owners are happy that the cat survived.

PICS!

SWWW Means...?
Pearl Jam

To me, Eddie Vedder brings such an intensity to the table that I can't help but love what he does. Yes, it helps that I love the music and it really struck me at a formative time in my life. But it's also the case that he just pours himself into the performance and gives it all he has. This is something I try to do and I really both appreciate and respect.

I'm sure if you hate PJ you will just masturbate all over my opinion because you can't help yourself. But I'm not sure how you can't respect this performance:

The fact is, the man gives 100% of his heart and soul to that music. I just love that. I got goosebumps just watching that.

I never tried to put in words why I like Pearl Jam but I must agree with this. You can tell that Eddie and the rest of the band are into it for the music and not the fame. Maybe it's cliche but it's true.
Still has the passion http://youtu.be/O0XQEGxyszA

I think half the reason i voice my dislike for the band is the reaction it gets from the hardcore fans.

I actually liked Ten when it came out. But like most bands that start off hard with an edge (relatively speaking), the rest of their stuff just sounded bland and watered down to me.

I've been told a million times that i have shitty taste in music so don't pay any attention to me.

Pictures?

On PJ- +1 here.
Long time listener and just started seeing them live a couple of years ago.
I won't miss a show now, best return on your ticket dollar for my money.
Eddie can get so primal sometimes, even studio stuff can be haunting.
Live is unreal.

Risotto

So is it prounounced...

ris-AH-toe
ris-OH-toe

...? I don't know how to say it, but I do know how to make it. Robin when you come over I'll make it if you like. But that's a shit-ton of carbs between the sushi, risotto, and pad thai. Maybe we'll have to have a home-and-home deal there? Anyway, it is easy though I think to knock it out of the park you need to make your own stock. That brings it from good to great.

STB is right. It's not hard but it takes a lot of time & attention. I think most cooking is generally easy, though there are some things that you need to know, be it from experience or paying attention. And never just "wing it" when baking. That's a...recipe...for failure. Oh, I'm such a ham.

Never made a ham before I don't think.

Oh and I make fresh mushroom risotto, so I make a mushroom stock. Like Eddie Vedder, I give 100%.

Fresh stock is so key to risotto, it's absurd. I never eat it in NY restaurants because many use water and I now realize why I didn't like it as a kid - no flavor in the rice. Wife makes fresh chicken stock; I do the rest. Best ever is risotto with pancetta, peas, chanterelles and seared scallops (white wine that is a bit more minerally - Sancerre or Friuli).

I would take you out in a risotto throw down Norm. Just sayin'.

And PJ is fantastic live. I have Jeremy, I Got ID and Fuckin' Up on my race warmup mix. Oh, and Animal too.

I am disappoint. Here I was thinking SWWW involved worchestershire sauce, midgets, midgets in luchador masks, feathers, sheep, and a lot of friction. What a letdown.

I knew there was a reason I have dogs instead of cats. Eww. Despite the fact the dumbasses got into a skunk the other day. Such a lovely smell.😛uke:

The smell the skunks spray is nothing like the smell you get when one is dead on the road. Holy hell, its like burnt rubber or some shit.

Yep, much more acrid/chemical smell. Nasty stuff. And it really doesn't work, the dogs chased the dumb thing anyway even after getting sprayed.
Evolution blows!

Best rock concert I've seen. I'm taking Germy next time.

Crap! I had a busy weekend and no time to check in.

First: This is a much better version of Yellow Ledbetter http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KCZAB3bl0P8

First music for me was on vinyl then 8 track. Vinyl - Jethro Tull Aqualung and Who's Next (duh). 8 Track was Aerosmith - Get Your Wings (and still one of my favorite albums of all time) and Steely Dan Katy Lied. I never actually bought cassettes - I would always get vinyl and duplicate. I made tons of mix tapes throughout highschool and probably spent dozens of hours in off the wall record stores trying to find EP's, singles and promo albums of everything from Iron Maiden imports to Henry Rollins poetry. I have a some really rare U2 singles (UK release only), a bunch of Dead Kennedies, Bad Brains, Minute Men, Pistols, Minor Threat, etc. I think that all lead me to my DJ stint during college.

Best mix ever is from a graveyard (get it now) shift I did in 86. Usually I would go 10 pm to 2 am but the second DJ never showed so with help from about 5 or 6 guests throughout the night I went thru to 8 am. Need to make a movie about that night (they lock the student center at 2 am, which I didn't realize - scene 17 would be me scaling the stone wall of the student center to get back in an open window while Lighter Shade of Pale (Procol Harem) is playing.

You might be the first person I have ever seen mention Jethro Tull or Steely Dan and any of those last five in the same paragraph. Well done! 😎

Further evidence of why Bill is awesome.
