Dbl Pond Trail

Mildly Wild

I rode Dbl Pond yesterday, first time in 3 mos. Not much water in the two usual spots that always pond up, and what was there was mostly frozen. However I just this time noticed the lengthy rock bridges that were built on the left side of the trail in both spots. Major, major kudos to whoever did that! Really great trail work and what a relief. Last time I rode this was Thanksgiving and the "ponds" were almost hub level deep. By the time I got thru the 1st, I was commited to keep on going this way. Hit a rock in the middle of the second one, stalled and had to put a foot down in ankle deep water. Good thing it was a relatively warm day. Now no more soakers. Were these there for a while and (riding with my head in my rear) I never noticed them?

Black Bear Cycling did this in late December/early January, they have pictures of the work on their facebook page. Happened to run into them yesterday on the intersection of white dot and pickle and chatted for a bit. Seems they did a bunch of work on the pumphouse rock bridge as well. Based on the pictures they must have put in a ridiculous amount of time and sweat, really looking forward to hitting both in the near future.

Thanks for the info. I'll also have to remember to thank BB Cycling if I ever run into them. I gotta get involved in some TM this year.

Thanks BBC. That section was always a mess. I was out there yesterday but did not run into you. Great to see you taking advantage of the mild weather to repair some wet spots! 🙂
