Conditions this weekend

I have already heard that there are some damp spots around and was wondering what sort of conditions might be expected there tomorrow (sat) morning? Any of the late day storms hit the area today? I'm quite a ways off so if it is likely not going to be ridable in the morning, which i am kinda expecting with the continued threat of rain tonight, then i'll stick somewhere closer to home instead.

We got more rain tonight some of it was steady at times but not like the recent downpours that we've been seeing lately. If you park in the back you may be ok on the higher trails. If you have to travel a long distance I would say go local or to CCC for the best ride. The college just drains a whole lot better than Ceres. There was some mud in the low areas even before this rain tonight when I rode it this week so I'm sure it's getting worse now. They're calling for even more rain this weekend so I won't be riding Ceres until probably Wednesday or Thursday.

Thanks. Don't really know either too well so i probably just stick local instead of risking getting caught up in more rain poking around somewhere new.

Well as much as I told myself I wasn't going to ride Ceres this weekend, I caved under the pressure to ride my favorite Park. 😱 The high ground was still good but once I got down by the creek it turned pretty muddy. I did my best to ride off to the side of the trail since it's getting rutted up bad by other riders. Getting that mud on you anyway is kinda nasty since I like to call it skunk mud. It stay's with you and stinks pretty bad! 😀 Had a good ride though and still managed to get in about 2 hrs. of riding. Word of caution though the 1 board on the skinny bridge over the 2 downed logs has broken free and collapsed to the ground when I went over it. At least it didn't send me over my bars!!!! I pulled it back up and put some logs under it for now but it will have to be fixed later. If I get a chance this week I may give it a complete overhaul since it's getting old and wobbles a little. If anyone know's the bridge I'm talking about and will be riding back there anytime soon just walk it first before you ride to make sure it's still safe. Did see 2 other cars in the back parking lot and said hi to a guy in a pickup. If your a member here I was the guy in the silver F-150.

Hello all,

Never ridden Ceres. Wondering how many total miles there are? Is it worth 1.5 hour drive?

It's a network (8 or 9 miles) of trails, not currently marked or mapped (though both of these are in the works at this time). I would recommend a guided tour even though you can't truly get lost, you can get turned around and could have trouble finding the parking lot. If you've got some form of GPS you can find your way back. Plenty of interesting stuff for riders of varying abilities.

I love the place and there are a handful of riders who travel an hour, 3-5 times a week to ride there. The good news is if you did come down and hate it (can't imagine that but..) there are about 15 other trails on your way home 😉

Find Save Ceres Park on fb and post looking for a tour.

Bridges

Anyone have any news on new bridge construction? I travel an hour to enjoy this south jersey jewel, well worth the trip.

No bridge yet, it's tied up in red tape no doubt. But if you park in the back lot you can get to all the good stuff.
