Yep Friday Nov 1st and Saturday 2nd

This is 2 weeks out but it’s a large project and 1 day is a weekday, so wanted to get the word out early. We are finally going to do the reroute on the backside of the ballfield trail. Anyone who rides this knows how bad this section is with deep gullies in multiple spots. This started to get bad after Ida, we repaired it soon after but with the current crazy rain events this just isn’t sustainable as it’s mostly fall line. I’ve got the High Tech guys coming to help both days, so that’s a huge bonus. I’d love a solid volunteer turnout to be able to knock this out in 2 days. We will be parking in the back of Chimney Rock Park (gravel lot) and walking in from there. It’s about a 10ish min walk. You can come at any time and stay as long or short as you’d like. My plan is to work from 8am to 3pm on Friday and 9-3 on Saturday. Norm should be joining us both days as well. Hope some of you can at least 1 of the days.

The usual details:
- Tools will be supplied
- We will be walking to the work spot
- Lots of sticker/thorn bushes, so long sleeves advisable

I will have drinks and snacks for all.

Any questions or if I missed something, please chime in.

I will be there both days. I am starting a new job in November and made them change my start date from 11/1 to 11/4 so I could do this. I don’t want to hear any lame excuses here.

If you can make only one CR TM this year, it should be 1 of these 2 days.

If I can attend, should I bring the pole trimmer, string trimmer with the metal blade or pole saw to help? Should be able to make easy work of the stickers.

Chris-any of those could help. I need to get back in there next week to get another look to the current growth situation. After I do, I'll post up what might be best.
thanks

I'm planning on attending on the 1st at 8a. I'll bring the pole trimmer (KM 110R), throwing star trimmer (FS 460 C), and pole saw. We can decide how to deploy them.
