Friday update!
@Kirt, myself, and Ranger Ryan were out on the ball-field trails again this morning working on a few different things. First is a small bit of new trail close to where all the trails meet near the water crossing (closest to Gilbride). If you were to run laps of the ball-field, there is the 1 bit at the end of the newest trail (which was built after the septic overflow-explosion) that had (past tense) a rough turn.
It no longer has a rough turn. You can smoothly ride this now. Before & after below. To give you an idea, I am looking at the big bridge that leads to the wooden staircase to the ball-fields. It is probably 100 yards away from me.
Next we went into the new build that connects all this to the gravel lot. I would call the next 2 sections we worked finishing work, but more of a high-end finishing work. This isn't just dotting the Is and crossing the Ts, this is making it considerably more fun & flowy.
This is a picture of Ryan after he started a little. Behind him was a low spot that sort of killed your flow when riding in from the lot.
Here is what it looks like now:
And a close up of the footer we added to help keep your speed/momentum:
The final piece is the rise shortly after this. It is a small fix but I think this will really help
tie the room together you keep your flow through this. Before & after:
I am finding this extremely rewarding. Where the High Tech guys are the Hulk Smash of the trail building process, these small sessions are the Bob Ross'ing of the trails. I really, really enjoy doing this work. Hopefully you guys can check this stuff out soon.
If you are interested in these Friday sessions, shoot me a PM and we can talk about it. But expect to work. We like to get in there, do the work, and get out.
