Chamois Butter... How Much?

Too many serious posts today.

I grabbed a box of these single use Chamois Butter things recently to qualify for free shipping on an order. I've always used the original big tube and was taught by the CX Elite guys years ago that a dab will do.

I opened one of these single use jobbers today and holy shit it was at least 4 times what I would normally use.

Am I doing it wrong or is the single use packet just way too much product?

@Pearl what do they do in NC?

I use this product at home probably for the last 7-8 years and rarely any saddle sores if any at all.

But I also use those little packets on rides more than 60-70 miles. I use half on each “side” and I’m good.

I'm ride it dry too these days. Last time I used butter was at the 75 mile mark of a century, and think I went with 2 of those in one application. Felt a bit squishy for the first mile after lol

Lost weight, got a bike fit, adjusted tilt on my saddle and don't really use it much anymore.

Full disclosure and probably TMI, when I do/did use it, long ride with lots of sweating, because sweat contains salt that dries and becomes abrasive, quarter size dollop each cheek, some on the man parts and each nip.

Sweat is a pure murderer of ass cheeks. Like an hour around 90 degrees and I’d bleed without Ultra Balm.
