The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection has purchased part of the Mt. Allamuchy Scout Reservation, which includes about five miles of hiking trails through forested areas with scenic views, wetlands and streams, the agency said.

It's the same trails you been riding all along like freaking middle ice cream earth worm ect. BSA still holds both camps. This parcel was up for sale to the public and I'm just happy the state stepped in. We were supposed to have a big ribbon cutting but weather squashed that.

If only we could get more people to ride some of these trails. Freakin Middle is slowly disappearing from lack of use.

for context, does this include the short track loop or trails in that area? I liked riding that loop once upon a time it was a good mix of terrain for my skills.

Ever since we stopped doing races there we no longer do a cleanup once a year. I think it suffers because of it. Also, the last few times we were there it was starting to become ground hornet central.
Can confirm. Still suffering from PTSD.

Highly unlikely. Those trails are like RIGHT IN the BSA. Maybe Matty can shed some light.

Definitely still BSA

Better than going to development but Nature Conservancy properties usually don't allow mountain biking. Further, they've ultimately transitioned a number of properties to the Ridge and Valley Conservancy, who currently don't allow mtb on any of their properties. I think TNC strategy is to handle initial acquisition/preservation of properties, then hand off to local organizations to manage long term. RVC is local, based in Newton.
