Brumley Forest, NC

We were visiting family in NC Memorial Day weekend; my son and I took our bikes so I could show him some of my old haunts. In the end we decided to go someplace new to us because the trail is relatively flat and it was a 95-deg day. Plus it is 10min from Hillsborough BBQ Company. Plus the only buddy in town had not seen it before.

The trail is very nicely laid out and well marked. Lots of flow, jumps, berms, etc. Plus something I am used from NC but not seen much in NJ: crossing a ditch back-n-forth many times in row. Ok this part of NC is really flat so they use what they have.

AT some point we were looking at the signs and a local was telling us how to complete the loop. He mentioned there wee many rocks that way. I didn't have the heart to tell him my son rode RV al winter.

The whole thing is about 9 miles if you do all the trails and the original plan was to do it both directions to see which was more fun. BUT, by the time we finished the first loop it was 90+ so it became beer&q time.

Highly recommend if you need to kill time around Durham NC.

Down in NC again for July 4th. In addition to buying a bunch of fireworks in PA on the way down, we brought the bikes again. Due to the trails we wanted to visit beign wet, we went back to Brumley Forest. This time it was a cooler day (we wrapped up the ride before it hit 90, although my car said 102 4 hours later) so we got to do an extra loop and enjoy without dissolving into a puddle. I got a better feel for the trails, I'd characterize as Nox with some rocks. Very enjoyable.

here are a few more pics
