Breathe Right

So I had to go to an ear, nose throat doc the other day and at the end of my appt I mentioned that I had a snoring issue ( ok my wife made me ask if there was something I could do about it). He checked out my nose and of course like everyone on the planet my right nostril has a deviated septum but the kind that could likely be helped by trying these Breathe Right strips. Friday night I tried it for the first time and I have to say it was a pretty remarkable thing. First off you can feel the difference in how much easier you can breathe as soon as you put it on. I slept much more soundly and i am now pretty sure that most of my waking in the night is due to difficulty breathing. My wife was ecstatic the next morning and said she slept the best she had in like forever due to my not snoring and being less restless. So much so that now she is sleeping so much better that she is back to getting up early and working out. This morning I decided to leave it on and see if it had an effect while exercising so when I did my rollers early today this was a very noticeable difference. I was able to breathe much more deeply inhaling through my nose while riding. Now I'm wondering if all these years my brain has been oxygen deprived. Wonder if I can get these in team colors :hmmm:

Breathe Rights are really good. I have a deviated septum as well, I don't know if my ENT was pulling my chain or what but he wasn't able to get the scope up in the left side... He recommended surgery, but I'm too chicken. Plus I've been hearing 50/50 from others. Any opinions here?

Anyway, back to breathe rights....they are great, but it becomes a pita to always have them in hand. You'll find yourself going through them like a teenager with tissues. Sleeping, cycling, excercising, etc. there's a reason why many football players wear them. Well, they likely get them for free.

Snoring

Tried the breathe right but didn't work for me - I guess there are no deviations in my septum. Sleep study, very mild apnea, but the snoring is more of a lifestyle/partner issue (partner being my wife). Have a CPAP - hate the f#cking thing and looking into a bite plate instead...

also have a deviated septum, broken nose x3. Have opted for no surgery...for now. Use Breathe Right strips just about everytime I ride or snowboard (my goggles collaspe my nasal passage even worse). I've slept with them occasionally when my allergies are bad. I'll slice my own bread, I'd rather have my strips.
