Brandywine Creek State Park

GF and I going to Philly this weekend to see the Simeone Auto Museum. We would like to try Brandywine St Park while we're in the area. I am looking at the DE state parks website for this park, but it shows only about 5 miles of trails legal for biking. There are also a bunch of unmarked trails on that map - not sure whether those are OK for riding. If only just 5 miles of rideable trails, e may just skip and go to White Clay, Any info/feedback on riding this park will be well appreciated.

Much more than 5 miles at Brandywine. See Trailforks, has much more info than Mtb project. More varied terrain than MR/WC. We usually park in the hotel lot off of Rt 202, trailhead right out of lot. Some of the northern trails actually go into PA.

Is that the Concord Plaza, the Double Tree or Siegel JCC?

Edit note: some parts are in 1st State National Historical Park, some is Brandywine. Maybe that's the 5miles that you read. I've never ridden on the west side of Brandywine Creek either.

Here's a few longer ride from a few years ago. Looks like we parked at the lot on Ramsey's Rd for 1 of them, which is very small and fills up fast. Also have heard of cars being broken into at that location. The hotel does not mind people parking there. Leaf cover shouldn't be too bad yet.

Thanks, left for Philly before I got your latest, but I did find this spot. Was a little apprehensive as sign said "National Park" but saw other cars with racks there so we went in. We didn't have a map so we followed that trail down to a ped bridge, met some kids on bikes there and then turned right from there. Followed the trail along the river, then found some single track to the right going up (!!) We met a biker there that gave us some tips, but because we were running out of daylight, backtracked to the car. I need to go back and spend some time there figuring it out, we enjoyed the short ride we had. Thanks very much for your help.

PS: Simeone Museum in Philly was great if you like seeing rare exotic vintage race cars.
