Will these only work on 970 cranks? I. Believe the bike I need them for has fsa cranks.

BCD is the same. The outer and middle ring have standard spacing but I know for sure the inner ring is not standard spacing. Keep in mind all the engineering, tech, and significant weight saving over conventional rings is in the middle and outer rings which is why they are so much more money than normal rings and the inner is relatively cheap. I had to buy an XTR inner 24T ring as my raceface ring did not fit the M970 crankset and I did not want to use spacers.

Left ring - XTR M970 granny. Right ring Raceface granny.

Would I be able to use the existing granny with the mid and outer?I don't use the granny anyway.

I don't see why not since the BCD is the same. Its best to start with fresh drivetrain components for optimal performance/wear - do you mean its a new FSA crankset and you'll just keep the stock granny ring?

I have been getting chainsuck on my outer ring and need to replace. The crankset is only about a year old so I figured this could be a good solution and an upgrade as well.

If you are going to be investing in expensive chainrings I would replace the year old (I assume) chain and cassette at the same time. An old chain with new chainrings will not have chainsuck but if you have to replace the chain and cassette later on and your newer XTR rings are broken in to your existing drivetrain the combo of worn rings with new chain will likely lead to chainsuck. You'll get best results if you start with a fresh drivetrain, but its up to you.

Here is a detailed site on chain-suck: http://fagan.co.za/Bikes/Csuck/
