I think I've done it 4 times. 3 of them on the fat bike. Or 2. All I remember are the rocks. There's a bunch of rocks. Like all of the rocks in NJ are there. When you're not riding in the rocks you ride on fireroads at 25mph.

I was considering this as a challenge but then I tried a lap and the prolog and realized its unpossible for me unless I get a lot faster in the next month.

This is the hardest course in NJ. 2x25 miles of the toughest single track in any race in this state. If you've never done it, its a lofty goal. If you race then this is a must.

I've done it for the last 5 yrs. (4 of those years on a hardtail).
I DNF'd twice due to a snapped D- hanger. If the rocks are wet and the course is muddy the dnf factor goes up considerably.

If you finish this race your are officially a Bad Mother Fucker.

Try the Spring Cleaning race this weekend to get a short feel for it.

looks like more than 100ft/mi of elevation, should i keep my 28t on or am i gonna wanna mash hills and a higher top end ?

I am considering, but I am guessing its not a lot of fun on a hardtail

ill be HT'n it, and unless @Johnny Utah gets another bike he'll be on one too. i guess it depends on what an individual classifies as "fun" lol

Did it in 2014. Finished in 6:35 ish including a full OTB launch with the bike landing on top in the last 5 miles. Someone asked me if I was OK....all I could muster was "I've been better"

I've been meaning to go back and do it again but the nightmares of rocks chasing me have not gone away yet.

28t 1x? I don't remember many hills that wanted to be mashed that day. Most of the climbing was on single track and you were sitting.

Or walking 😉

1x, 11-40 in the caboose

i think i wanna try and get in under 6 hrs. ambitious? i think so.

i watched mannys recaps and the climbs i saw looked like id probably want to keep my ass on the bike

id rather have the climbing gear than the top end gear

looks like the course changed to being longer the year i finished in 2014. i always race hard in the beginning and just survive the remaining time. your body may be different. also, you push harder in the beginning when its cooler 😉

I guess there is still a ton of time to get another bike, but I should be on the rigid fat.

Fully planning on this to be the hardest event I have entered to date. Maybe a tie with the original Marty's Fat Fifty death march in 20" of thawing snow.

I may give this a shot not registered yet tho.I have rode 30 miles on my rigid ss there but 50 is quite a bit more.Maybe being on a geared fully will be easier.
