Bear Sighting?

Rumor has it there was a bear sighting in Hartshorne. Anyone heard anything?

That doesn't seem like a likely place for a bear. If you were saying Wawayanda, I'd be surprised if you didn't see a bear...:)

it was probably a large dog. I've been going to Hartshorne once a week for the last 10 years and I've seen a lot of interesting things there, but never a bear. I think there is too much traffic in the park for a bear to choose to hang out there.

Unless it was a grizzly bear and it was hanging out down by the water, trying to catch some early season striped bass!

Highly unlikely. A bear would have to venture through a couple of big rivers and a few super highways to get there. Much more likely to be a dog off its leash.

Unless it was a large dog that could climb trees. I heard that someone walking their dog saw a black bear going up a tree. Who knows? Did'nt they see one at Earl Naval Pier in Leonardo last year?
