BA merges with Untappd

Apparently Beer Advocate was going under and has now merged ( been saved ) by Next Glass who owns Untappd. I never bothered with BA beyond looking up reviews but have been an Untappd user since 2014. It seems some, not all but some BA users are unhappy about it, the crying on the thread about their little club being saved by an inferior, at least to them platform is a bitter pill for them to swallow.

Yes, I’m sure this development has chapped some asses in the BA community.
Without looking, I’ll assume the reacts are similar to a macro buying a micro.

I have at times tried both, but could not muster the energy to maintain another social media platform in keeping up on Untapped.
I like the concept, but just can’t devote the time to it.
BA is my go to for reviews and the forum threads to keep up on the brewery world.

In our unscientific methods, @soundz and I have come to the conclusion that Untapped ratings tend to be slightly inflated relative to BA.

Anyway, good to know both platforms are going to live on.
