Area Restaurants

With you guys giving props to Fins and Surf Taco, I will throw in 10th Ave Burrito in Belmar. Awesome food, every order made from scratch. Call ahead if you're not in the area, depending on mood they may not be open. This place has awesome loud music, fresh food and local art on display and for sale. Also a huge fun factor. Cash only and don't piss them off, they will literally toss your shit right into the garbage.😀

Oh yeah, go to Kellys for a Mini Reuban and beers

Ate in lambertville tonight at Siam. Awesome Thai food and very inexpensive, normal size portions, casual atmosphere, BYOB. Just a plain place but you will need a reservation especially on Saturday nights.

Also, Cafe Galleria in Lambertville, right down the street from Pure Energy has some good food and some good vegetarian options. The tofu aphrodite is soooo good. They have good home made bread also. Have not had a bad meal here. Outside seating available.

The good thing about Jose Tejas is the price. My wife goes here often for lunch with the girls and with no booze they get out of there for like $25. I find the food waaayyyyyyy to salty and if you go prime time expect to wait an hour at least.

Hopefully Wobbegong will tell his Mei Thai story, it's freakin hysterical

I agree on the salty thing w/ Jose Tejas, though I can get past it with the jumbo water cups they have.

I'd love to hear the Mie Thai story, good or bad. It's one of my favorite places 😀

Mike is referring to Burrito Royal....Sucks

My vote for sushi

My favorite in Middlesex county has to be Sapporo's on George St New Brunswick. I highly recommend the crispy and spicy tuna roll. It's never a problem getting a table for sushi, while the hibachi sides gets packed.

Somerville Area

Martino's
Cuban/Carribean Hispanic
BYOB
Great Atmoshere

I like Martino's... A Cuban friend swears he's Dominican (not Cuban), but I say who cares! The black bean soup, Cuban sandwich, and baked plaintains taste more authentic than Gloria Estefan's restaurant in Orlando...

Also in Somerville: Origin... French Thai... Awesome for lunch, pricier for dinner.... Try the chicken massaman curry, and for dessert sticky rice and mango... WOW!!!

Vegan?

Spencer where are there some good vegan restaraunts around here. Need somewhere good to take the wife with her being strict vegan it can become difficult.

Brothers Moon in Hopewell... a favorite of my vegan friend...

Also awesome for non-vegans like myself. Not cheap, but I've never been disappointed...

Yeah. Strictly vegan isn't happening anywhere in NJ anymore. Used to be Down To Earth in Red Bank but they went under about 2 years ago. Kaya's Kitchen in Belmar is vegetarian and has lots of vegan options. VP2 in the village is super-dope if your in the city. Otherwise, you just need to be crafty and find stuff at normal places. I was vegan for a long, long time and eventually gave in and became a normal vegetarian just so I could go out to eat with my friends and family😉
