The Aqueduct trails are the 3rd trail system located in or around the town of of Woodstock, VT. I've been there just once, in the fall of 2022. I recall it being a bit more raw in terms of being user friendly. Some of the stuff went fairly straight up, then straight down. In hindsight, this is probably the least user-friendly of the 3 systems in town.

But it's been a few years. With the amount of work being done in Woodstock there is a good chance this has changed.

Getting There

The town of Woodstock is just about 5 hours from central NJ. The map shown here goes up the CT/VT gut. More often than not, we're coming in from Rutland so we go up 87.

General Ride/Trail Notes

The list below is a general sense of "what I remember" which is a little old & rusty at this point. I will do my best but YMMV/buyer beware.

When we were here, there had been some logging activity and 1 of the trails was sort of half-gone.
  1. Slash Ridge - I do remember this being a fun way to end the ride. Make sure you wrap up here.
  2. Cabot Pepper Jack - this was a rough climb, IIRC. At the time it looked to us like it was still being built.
  3. Reservoir Trail - mostly forgettable miles here
Aside from that I do not remember Coaster, nor do I remember the Stinger/Shooter combo. I know we rode both but the details escape me. You'll need to try this one out on your own to see how it rides.

Trip Planner

Aqueduct is 1 of 3 trail systems in Woodstock, the other 2 being Saskadena 6 as well as Mount Peg. You could make a 3-day weekend out of those 3 trails if you wanted to stay in Woodstock.

Killington Bike Park and the Sherburne Trails are just about 30 minutes to the west. Ascutney is roughly 20 minutes south. Tunnel Ridge and the Rochester Trails are about 45 minutes away. The Green Mountain Trails are probably 40 minutes away.

You could easily spend a week up here in this area riding just those systems and never have to drive more than 45 minutes any given day, more often than not less than that.

Food & Drink

The town of Woodstock is teeming with things to do, quite literally. It may be the most "vibrant" downtown I have seen in the state. Check Zillow for house prices and you'll see what I mean. Clearly some of the NY/NJ money has made it here. That said, we have gone to these spots before:
  • Abracadabra Coffee Company - small roaster that used to be in town but has since moved to a larger location north of town
  • Woodstock Farmer's Market - great way to spend a lot of money on a little food, but they do have excellent fresh bread and local cheeses
  • Mountain Creamery - We've been to the old location in town, this is a new location
  • Worthy Kitchen - related to Worthy Burger, another place in VT somewhere. Mitch says the chicken is amazing
  • Angkor Wat - we have never been here but it was recommended to us

Just tossing this out there for the sake of finally crossing it off the list. This is the 3rd of the Woodstock, VT trail systems and rounds out the last of the 3 parks.

One day I'll get back up here and flesh this out more.
