Apple Watch 5

Question..... got an Apple Watch 5 for Xmas. Grateful for the super nice gift but never really wanted one and still don't want one honestly. I actually like keeping my iPhone in my backpack when I’m moving around and not paying attention to every little thing. I’m very active with mtb, skiing, hiking, and gym activity but never felt the need or interest to track my activity other than what I already do on mapmyride.

Can you convince me otherwise as to why/how the Apple Watch should be a compelling keeper?

Yes, there’s that, but more importantly you can answer your iPhone while it’s still in your backpack, Dick Tracy-style.
More like Knight Rider style!

I never wanted one and got as a gift a couple years ago also....ended up loving it for riding. It runs Strava, has a good heart rate monitor, and the gps has come in handy more than once. I also ride when I’m supposed to be “working from home” quite a bit so it’s good to be able to quickly glance at calls or messages while riding to see if it’s worth stopping for.

I agree with above, had a Microsoft Band 2, then they discontinued it. I bought a Series 4, love it. Tracks my rides, weight sessions, elliptical and I like that if my phone is out of reach I can answer calls, most folks who call say it sounds very good.
