Anyone know anything about riding at Mt. Snow VT?

I will be going up there this weekend as family friends have a place 1 mile from the slopes so we are making a big family hangout weekend out of it. The website shows extensive trails and you can buy lift tickets, rent bikes etc. However I am not interested in body armor and would rather ride up than down so has anyone ridden the "cross country trails"? or know anything about what it is like? From what I can see, if you don't need a lift ticket you can ride the trails for $10 a day.
Any insight would be appreciated.

Last time nationals were on the East coast they were at Mt. Snow. The trails were technical but fun. I got caught up in a few spots but you'll be fine. Both the xc and super d courses were great. I don't remember what trails to point you towards but they had lots of good stuff up there. You'll have fun!!

I raced there like a million years ago, OK, twenty years ago. While I was there I rode the XC trails and they were awesome! Well marked, like ski trails with green, blue and black markers. At the time I thought they were technical, but I don't think they're anything crazy. I think they were more like tight singletrack through the trees. Go have fun and tear it up!

back in the late 90s was the last time i rode XC there but back then there were some sweet XC trails down the road from the actual mountain. It was called the "crosstown" area or something like that.

Fully aware of beer fest....

I spoke with a guy from the shop up there and got some decent info. Only drag is trails are not open until 9am. That's a drag as I hoped to have ridden 2 hours by then. However he told me about a good network of trails that are very close and not part of mt snow.Likely the trails u referred to as crosstown ad it sounded something like that. When I get there I'll stop in and grab a map that has all the local trail networks. Sounds like this could be an adventure. Only drag is not having company.

wish I could give you more advice on the riding - but I spent my entire time living up there skiing...and not biking at all.

I do know there are some trails off of Handle Road and behind the 7-Eleven. If you go into some of the "local" places (Dot's in Wilmington or the River Market), I'm sure they can help you out with some suggestions.

Have a great time!!! Drink a bevie or two for me!

Turns out their place is on Handle road....I will be seconds from the trails, kids will be occupied with their freinds, there will be an excess of beer and food, I like the way this is sounding.
