I heard a wild story at work the other day about some bikes being stolen and then fortunately recovered by the owners and was curious if anyone here heard about this or know the victims
I heard that there were three very expensive bikes - I am assuming road bikes because there were supposedly in the $8k price range - on a car top rack and folks went into a restuarant to eat. Bikes were locked on the rack but someone used a bolt cutter or saw and grabbed two of the bikes and loaded them into a van; they tried to get the third bike in but could not fit all three so they left one bike and drove off. Apparently that van broke down a ways down the road and guess who stopped to help them? The owners of the bikes who quickly saw their bikes in the van and called the police!
Anyone know anything about this? I know it happened somewhere up in Sussex County within the last couple of months. Just curious if there was any connection to anyone on the board here.
