Hi - FYI, a friend and fellow mtbr Steve Fahmie has embarked on a cross country ride - Union Square NY to Union Square San Fran. He is documenting his journey on a blog that I thought I would share with you all.

Blog: http://www.tsq2usq.blogspot.com/

Pics: http://gallery.me.com/fahmies#100202&bgcolor=black&view=grid

Tracks: http://connect.garmin.com/explore?owner=fahmies

So far, so good - he is averaging about 80-100 miles a day, and has been at it for 11 days now.

He is also using this ride as a vehicle for raising money for Pedals for Progress (P4P). Please visit his blog to follow along on this adventure, and if the spirit moves you, donate to P4P via the link on his blog.

(Note that his blog is called TSQ2USQ, which reflected his original plan to start at Times Square NY. A last minute change in plans had him starting from Uniion Square NY, but the blog name remains...)

Cool Stuff. Does he think it will take him until June to get to California or is he taking a week or 2 to chill then come home?

Not sure, maybe a little free time in SFO, but it is 4,200 miles, so mostly riding I think...

Thats amazing!!! Last year I met 3 women who traveled from California to Boston,MA. I met them on the D/R Canal @ 27. I didn't even knew who they were when I met them at that time. It wasnt till I googled them that I found out what they were doing. When I get some more experience under my belt. (well, maybe alot more experience) I want to try something like that too. But I want to travel around the whole border of the United States. I wonder how many miles that would add up too?
