Directed my first adventure race on saturday. The NYARA Jersey Inferno 12 hour. to most of the racers, things went off without a hitch....to me, i spent half of the day running around like a chicken without a head. @gtluke was there all day taking pictures. @MissJR and @Santapez were an enormous help along with Maria in running transition areas, and @ajcourain was the only solo female in the race and did an incredible job!

Running up cardiac bypass with a bike helmet isnt normal, but in adventure racing it is.

i never planned for anyone to swim, but 2 teams did...and one found a rotting deer carcass....yum!

Started the weekend on Thursday night at the Pluckemin Inn for 5 year wedding anniversary dinner. No pics somehow?

Some basement finish choices on Friday, also picked up way too much paint at Sherwin Williams

Saturday was my wife's birthday, had dinner at Verve in Somerville and finished the night with a stop at Tapastre. Somehow no pics again. We do have a pic of the flower girl ready to greet the birthday girl coming home from yoga.

There was a lot of lounging on the deck all weekend.

Sunday night we raided the garden for our first side dish of sauteed kale and swiss chard. Not the usual side for a ribeye, but what the heck.

Game of Thrones and some homemade souffle with chocolate sauce and melting ice cream to finish off the weekend

obviously this photo was taken before Bear Creek, as I'm smiling.

I don't really drink beer anymore, but after surviving the race, I felt I earned this (Victory Summer Love)

It was after 5pm Friday, so I'm calling it the weekend. Only one original member, but the important one. Awesome venue, awesome seats, awesome sound, awesome show. Wow.

Started the weekend with a drive out to the mid atlantic air museum...they were having a WWII fly in and i wanted to see the b29 that has just started flying again...it was insanely busy, so we just hung outside and watched the planes fly

Watched the b17, b24, b25 and a bunch of other planes fly around

Then over to bear creek...only way to get my wife to come to a bike race...have it at a fancy ski resort with a pool

Then I raced bikes...the MASS pro class is hard btw

Made it to the finish line.

As close as i got to the podium this weekend @Kirt and @Chris26er girls were having fun keeping Robert entertained all weekend.

Thursday finally sun, so I took my 3 yr old to the West Milford Pump Track for his first visit and he loved the place.

I share it with a few friends but just a really big backyard, not part of any parks. Just a forgotten chunk of woods were the men are men and the sheep are scared as hell.

Jersey City ward bike tour with family and friends, I don't like mass rides in cities, especially ones where local drivers don't want you there. But everyone else had fun and the puppy had it's first "long" ride in a front basket. Did I mention that I hate mass rides. Me and my kids at Exchange Place.

Watching Utah take his bike apart and put it back together. Within an hour of race time. Strangely, he finished the race.
