29'r Tires

"The Captain" by Specialized, offered in a variety of casing options from super scant racer-status to the beefy UST trail-slaying variety. Very popular tire out of this shop, employee ridden and heavily approved. Also GEAX Saguaro for a more weight conscious option. A recent favorite is the Maxxis Crossmark 29 in the LUST casing. Really nice front tire at Allaire.

What would you guys recommend for someone who wants good traction especially on turns, rides primarily at Allaire, isn't really concerned about speed (because i don't race, just like riding), runs tubeless, and wants something reliable?

I really need new tires this Spring... Still running the stock Bonty XDX tires on my X-Cal.

Bonty 29-3's.
Do a 2.25 in the front and a 2.0 in the back. They are different treads and I would expect them to be a perfect setup for allaire. Just a suggestion....

I was eying them up earlier in the year but haven't seen these tires in person yet.... does the 2.25 have good turning characteristics? That's my one major issue with the XDX; they're great in a straight line but when i lean into a turn it's always a gamble if my front tire is going to hold.

Maybe i'll have you finally fix that Rhythm wheel I taco'd too :D

Edit; PS, happy new year! :hysterica

I'm running the 2.25 front and back. They make an excellent front and a good back. Handling is solid and predictable.

It all depends on where you ride and what bike you have;)

That is a great point. I read a great deal of reviews before trying different tires, but all that being said I did not find the tire I liked until I tried a bunch on my own bike at the parks I ride.
