That is the same guide I used. It works, but I don't have enough tinkering time to complete the 69er conversion. I say you should go for it and fulfill my dreams 
. BTW I have two exact same forks for sale that this guide instructed me to use. One for sale and one is still on the partial build I want to complete.

So much smoother than 29er over the rough stuff, didn't even feel the big hole in the trail here:

Hey Wazu,
try it. If it doesn't work out at least you'll be a Front wheel closer to going to a full 29er.
