If you feel like helping don’t be shy and join RTC at Ryerson on 6/12 at 9:00am

A great chance to give back to the community, feel good about yourself and help build what is shaping up to be an awesome trail. Not to mention the chance to learn a thing or twelve about trail building and enjoy the company of some great people.

See you there!

Need to make that berm like another 6 feet higher so we can rail it on the downhill. Just kidding, looks great guys.

Here are some pictures from the new Ringwood-Ramapo Trail re-route taken yesterday. We are more than halfway to the end where we connect in with the old trail.

We have had to stop dirt work as it is too dry. Dirt is just powder and will not pack. We are hoping for rain soon. In the meantime, we can still do removal of duff and rock work. Which takes us to the last of my pictures, which is a rock section where we hope to begin tomorrow. :)

future trail will go here ^ ...............................This rock will be moved ^ into trail. This may look like a few rocks poking out of leaves on dirt, but there is no dirt in there. It is just rocks on rocks covered with leaves. ..... let the rock work begin!

I would like to send a big thanks out to volunteers over the last week: Steve, Leo, Declan, Quin, Joe, Jonathan and Susan. We have accomplished way more than thought possible. With Art out from lyme, your help is much appreciated! Every set of hands and eyes helps.

Without rain, we still are not able to work much dirt, but duff removal and rock work will continue. Hopefully some rain will find it's way to Ringwood soon.

Some shots from last night:

Rain has arrived! ..... I was up there today, and dirt was actually too wet to pack, so it should be good for Thursday.

It may get up to 95 degrees this week. I still plan to work Dirty Thursday, but plan to cap work at around 2.5 hours. If you decide to come, please bring plenty of water for yourself.

Here are some pictures from last Thursday and today. Trail construction across the the first rock field is just about complete. There is one small rock over for anyone who likes those. It should ride well in both directions and is not super hard so should be enjoyed by many. The rain we had last night was minimal, so still waiting for more rain before we tackle more benching. Hopefully a little rain each week will keep us moving forward. We have 2 more rock sections between here and the connection at the end. Once we get those done, people can start riding through and not an out and back. We have about half a dozen more Thursdays left to this summer before it gets dark too early.

Having seen the before and after...W O W !!!

Just letting people know that after Sept 1, we may be going in at 3:00 from lot C. because school will be open.

Technically, we have broken though to the existing trail on the top. However, this is not a cattle call to going flying down the trail yet, as it is just roughed in on the top. We are still unable to work the dirt because of the drought. There are many holes and areas that have not been benched or topped with dirt. If you want to ride it, please use caution!

Hiked it today. Fantastic work as always! Note: there is a tree down across the old Red trail about 100 yards above were the new section pops out. You can ride over it with caution but it really should be cut.

Thanks for the intel. We are aware of that tree and the one above that one. We have some plans to possibly re work some of those legs with a fresh bench cut to narrow the trail down a bit. We will take care of those blowdowns at that time. All that waiting on some rain.
