We had a good crop one year so decided to make pickles - did bread & butter, and dill. They were awesome.
think i grabbed a kit on amazon. Starting Fresh made a huge difference.

All I know is not to let them get too big or the plant shuts down. After that…no clue.

Need to look up this kit. Fresh B&Bs sound good!

we planned on eating them, so didn't do the sterile method.
Just a ball jar thing.

Been away since last Wednesday. Wondering how the garden will be when I check tomorrow. Have you gotten rain (in central NJ/Flemington)?

Came back from vacation to find my grape tomatoes were out of control.

My other tomatoes not doing great. Many had this black spot on bottom. Mold? Fungus?

Those black cherry tomatoes are delicious! First big tomatoes - German Giant and a Rutgers 250. The little Roma one has some blossom end rot, ended up tossing.

Peppers turned purple due to lack of nitrogen? I added some fertilizer, hopefully it helps the rest. Haven't tried them yet tho.

Interesting, I had some peppers do the same exact thing.

So those squash were supposed to be the squash with the green butt and yellow neck but turned out to be the bumpy ones you buy for fall decorations? Lol

Also, I bought what I thought was black Cherry and it ended up because a purple body that turns orange when it is ripe?you can kinda see them in the bag on the right. Wtf, missing my black cherries.

Tomatoes are great this year, both regular ones and cherry ones. Cucumber also great but that is now a given, year after year. Trying peppers and some pigmy watermellons that look amazing so far (but small)...too lazy for pictures, maybe later. BTW it's all servicegal doing, I just provide under qualified labor. Sometime.

Next year I may have to full @stb222 and build some nice looking fence for the vegetable garden, this year I just dropped a few stakes and randomly unrolled some chicken wire, works but looks like doodoo.

Who knew watermelons grew with their plastic box?!?! Amazing!
