Park Rat Thread

In the video he talks about how he has to ride those trails different on a hardtail - keeping just the right balance of speed and momentum. Obviously leaning heavily on his trials skills. And unlike a lot of trials riders, he typically rides stuff like that with clipless pedals.

Has he ever commented on how he decides when he wears his full face helmet? A lot of times he’s going much slower than what the downhill guys are but sometimes he does all the drops with his regular helmet

I rarely see him in full face...but it has happened.

today, lots of cars but no lines. Went straight back up. 2:30 to 5pm non stop runs for the most part.

First timer @leo_c pretty darn good. Ah man my first time is an embarrassment haha then again I was on a 2005 sports authority edition mongoose. He was flowing by the end

I haven’t been back here for like 6 years?! Not much has changed but I was grinning so much and doing full sends! with locked up brakes haha

Nice bike.

Talking about half-shells..... First run of the day this morning, cruising down greenhorn, and come across a guy knocked out cold face down in the middle of the trail. We hop off our bikes, to render him aid. As he comes to, he rolls over, and half of his lower face is just completely torn off, with chunks of flesh just dangling. Blood is pouring out of his face like a sink faucet. Some dude picked up his teeth off of the trail and put them in his backpack. Luckily, no obvious neck or back injuries. He was in a really tough spot for the EMTs to get him. So we had to escort him up to a ski trail about a hundred yards. He wanted to use his phone to see what his face looked like, but there's no way I was letting him, he would have probably collapsed on the spot. Hope he's able to recover and get back on the bike another day. Please wear full faces while riding Creek.

Duuuuude that was sooo bad!!! By far the worst injury I have ever seen. I had to turn away. I really hope he recovers from that. I cannot second that statement of wearing a full face. Thank you for stopping and helping that guy out.

I saw several dads this morning that were not set up for safety at all. One guy was on a 30 yr old beater with hybrid tires at around 10psi. I told him to at least pump up his tires. Seatpost all the way up, bike making noise... not good.

We saw a guy getting on the lift with a cheap 20 year old hard tail. Thing had v-brakes and an 80mm fork. 😬 I said, “That ain’t gonna end well.”

The yellow one??

Also shocked at the number of kids on Walmart bikes with nothing but a helmet on…come on mom and dad context clues of the gear everyone is wearing around you. “I want them to try it before I invest” is the reason they rent gear.

None of it surprises me. I got my bike off a guy who bought it to take his son to Windham. Never rode DH before and his son was only 6 years old. When I went to pick it up I asked, "What was your son riding?" He points to a 16" Toys R Us bike and says, "We went real slow."

He probably just wanted you to think the bike is cherry. Meanwhile he was actually at Creek twice a week alternating all day long between Flipper, 99, BMW and Evil Bob😂. Just kidding.
