Trail building is back up and in full swing at Ringwood. Last year we started re-routing the western ends of the Crossover Trail and Ringwood-Ramapo Trail onto a working bridge since the bridge near the back lot at Ringwood Manor was condemned. Those re-routes are now complete and trails marked accordingly.

We are currently building a new trail from the Ringwood-Ramapo Trail north to the state line to help connect Ringwood State Park to Sterling Forest multi-use Hutchinson Trail. This new trail in Ringwood should take most of this year to complete. Future plans are to re-route the Crossover Trail from Ringwood Manor to Skylands Manor. This should take several years.

It may seem like a lot of time to wait for new trails, but the more people that come out to help, the quicker these trails get built. Volunteer efforts the past 3 years have been good and trail building projects were completed as projected. Imagine if we could get more volunteers? Volunteers are needed in Sterling Forest to complete the next phase as well. If you are local or love to ride these trails, please consider helping out one day.
