My friend just purchased a brand new trek fuel Ex8 size 15.5 for his wife and she is to short to clear the center bar . He paid $ 3100.00 for the bike and has to sell it to get another one he is asking 2500.00 , this bike doesn't even have pedals on it (never ridden) his loss could be someones gain

Your friend paid $3100 on a bike for his wife without checking the stand over height? Can't he take it back from where he bought it and get the right size?

No it was ordered , if it was in stock maybe but not a ordered bike .

Treks suck for short riders, I've seen 5'8" guys riding 15.5' frames because the SO height is so high. Not a fan of any of their mtn stuff, especially after what they did to the GF brand. That being said, if it's new I can't understand how the shop won't help her out. Unless she just walked in and said "order this for me", didn't they help her pick the bike out or atleast size her up?
