2011 Cannondale's are up...

the crank set up on the flash bikes are all 39/27. anyone running something similar now?
Also they now have 3 carbon mtb's. ranging in $3000-$6000.

I'm liking the new naming scheme for the road and cross bikes. Much more to the point, a CAADX 105 is pretty self-explanatory.

yeah ive run the fsa afterburner 386 crank 27/42 it kicks ass. gets rid of alot unneeded gears.

I don't quite remember what was offered on the Flashes for 2010, but it seems like some of the components are lower end than before (X7 shifters and FD on the Flash 1).

Unless the price is much lower. I don't remember that number, either.

2010 flash 1 $3,000 (stans wheels, xt components)
2011 Flash 1 $2,100

the 2010 is spec'd out with better components. it looks like cdale is pushing the flash carbon models as there race bikes. kinda like GF with the super fly vrs the paragon.

Hey Poo, the specs on the Flash 1 aluminum say it has Sun rims with Lefty/X9 hubs, but if you move the cursor thingy over the wheels it shows Stans wheels:hmmm:

EDIT: nevermind, it's the wrong pictures on the site. The pics posted for the Aluminum 1 and 2 are the same as the Flash Carbons

Poor Rize :(. The top of the line is sold with a crappy wheelset and average components.

Only Carbon Flash, Scalpel, Jekyll and Claymore have decent components.

This line is a total revamp from last season. Some of the names are the same which can be really confusing. Consider that they now have a complete Carbon 29er for sub $3000. (Last season the least expensive version was $4500)

You will see lower end wheels used on many bikes to get the price lower. They have found that the frame and drivetrain sell bikes. Most avid riders upgrade the wheels anyway. In the end the line is a much better value than it ever has. I am totally giddy about the Flash Carb Hi mod. The 2x drivetrain works flawlessly and the ratios are spot on. (I managed about 150 miles on this bike in June in UT)

There is a lot to look at, here are some of my picks for best sellers:

Anything still being made in Bedford or is it all overseas now?

I think they are still making the Tandems there.

The design guys are still in CT. They just email their design files somewhere else.

The bikes look better than ever. Better paint, and they ride amazingly.

I may be missing something, but are there any DH bikes in the lineup?

No true DH bike. The claymore is bike park bike.

It turns out that they did some # crunching and found that the only people who were buying DH bikes either worked at shops or got them for free.

The road bike colors look hideous, which is a shame because the frames have always looked nice and classic, without all those swoopy tubes others are using. Also looks like they're moving towards a 4-bar style suspension system minus the Horst link on the MTBs. Interesting to see how well this will work, the Jekyll looks nice though.

Overall though, they lost me when they moved to China, part of Cannondales appeal was always that they were made locally. I'll hold on to my made in the USA SuperSix for as long as I can.

I'm slightly disappointed that they did away with the 50cm for the carbon bike, only a 52 or 48, and neither of them take the place of the 50:(

But, it sure is light and pretty:D
