It's 2025 Is an Emtb in your near future?

Hmmm...late to the party here, but I imagine an E-bike is likely. I've crossed the 60 threshold, two fake knees, head to toe arthritis (among other things), I don't live near "flat" and have *always* been a crappy climber anyway (even whilst in the shape of my life back in my 20s). I couldn't...

Jorba Group Ride Mahlon 7/20 Sunday 9am

Too out of shape, too tired, too far away :p 10 years, man that is sad (I've been gone for 13 years now). Not that we did a lot of group rides up there back in the day, but when we did, they were always a blast. Have fun up there folks.

Welcome to MTBNJ and the Wookiee-sphere. I keep telling everybody this place is special...but nobody ever believes me :) Have a great time getting dirty, Jake...

    A Wookies return.....

This and this thread is wonderful stuff. I really do miss y'all... despite all the bullsh*t that shows up on this site at times, the fact remains (and I've said this before) MTBNJ & the NJ MTB community are special...like special in a good way...no, seriously, I'm not kidding...really...

The Great Northern Migration Ride, July 26, Mahlon Dickerson

Blast from the past! Remembering Frank brought me here, of course. In 4 decades of cycling, this was by far my favorite group ride ever...and one of the most fun days I've ever had, period. We got this together after some Northerners came down to Allaire for a ride on "the train" (holy crap...

    A Wookies return.....

They should try to get the park renamed Harm's Park. And even that isn't befitting what a great man he was. RIP Brother.

Who here had had a full knee replacement.

I was in rehab a week after my bilateral. I did it because steps were a problem that first week and wanted it to be a little easier on my wife.

Who here had had a full knee replacement.

West coast biz hours are probably the best time to call. You have a better chance of stepping in an open hole in my work schedule than you do stepping in an open hole of the twins schedule during the evenings or weekend. The twins are still running us damn hard (1 year old now). Hopefully...

Who here had had a full knee replacement.

Another thing… If you’re gonna do this thing, see if you can get this setup instead of being stapled up. They use this bandage attached to a tiny vacuum pump effectively vacuum sealing the incision. I thought it was brilliant. One week after surgery they took them off and the incision was...

Who here had had a full knee replacement.

Howdy Kids! Long time, eh?!! I had both of my knees replaced, at the same time, summer of 2019 (age 54). My knees have been junk for a long time; years of injury and abuse plus a genetic propensity of osteo-arthritus. Back in 2018, I decided I was going to start racing dirt bikes (off road...

Niner SIR 9 Cable Routing Bracket

Well, I have one. Though I’m not sure it is the right one. This one looks unused. I know I ran the sir9 geared at one point. And I’m not sure it looks right based on bolt patterns. Radius looks like standard bb housing. OTOH, I have no idea what bike this came off of if not the Sir9. <<...

Niner SIR 9 Cable Routing Bracket

Oh yes, right. It is/was a great SS. I've often regretted selling it to you over the years (it's been like 10 years now). I'll take a peek. If I still have it, I'm mostly sure where it would be. Yeah, I still stick my nose in around here every once in awhile. I do miss you guys and the...

Niner SIR 9 Cable Routing Bracket

Shaggz Darlin… I thought I gave you that in case you wanted to go geared again. If I didn’t, maybe I still have it in a parts box. You still looking for something?

    Mahlon Trail Directory

The Great Northern Migration ride and the first Hooligan's ride were probably the two biggest/epic group rides we did up there. Yeah, 11 years - seems like an entire different life ago (and it pretty much was...)

Do you ever think about moving out of state?

I don't get as touched as much as I like, but sometimes...uh, okay, that came out wrong... Anyway, I'm a native left-coaster ... born and raised in Bend Oregon & lived in Oregon for the first 25 years of my life and have been back living in Portland for 5 1/2 years. Anything I can possibly say...

Official: 2018-2019 mtbNJ.com Fantasy Football League Thread - Utah wins the cup, still thinks oobaa47 is Timothy McVeigh

Hmm...how about that?! I guess it is because I still know a shit-fuck-ton more mountain bikers in NJ than I do in Oregon...6 years later. Though, I guess if I actually rode a mountain bike once in awhile that might help...or a bike...or talked to anybody that I didn't work with...

    Formula 1 - 2018

Yo. Holy shit! Um, well, I barely follow F1 these days. Gotta get up too damn early out here on the left coast.

@rlb ... 5 years ... hard to believe. Thanks, I do believe it will all work out for the better ... and hopefully we're getting onto the homestretch. It has been a rougher ride than I was expecting, for sure. But then again, when you've spent the majority of two decades busting your hump and...

    Portland Or

Heh, for sure the clouds and precipitation are a drag. I'll take it over snow in the winter and humidity in the summer any day, though. Gotta get out a bit to see a lot of brodozers (e.g. Gresham). Subaru Outbacks with Thule Aero-pods are the vehicle of choice (even more so than, ick, Prius')...
