    North Jersey Noobie to site

Welcome! I am new as well so I couldn't give many tips, but coming from a beginner I can tell you what I am starting out on... I have been riding in Andover on the Sussex Branch trail. If you feel adventurous there are a bunch of trails you can venture off on that lead directly back to the...

    Geocaching

I agree. I have sworn by the geocaching app on my phone since I purchased it.. but I do like to use my garmin so that I have 10x more battery power and can preserve my phone just in case I get lost. Haven't gotten lost yet, but with my luck.... Yeah. LOL Any cool geocaches that have...

    Geocaching

It's not too bad to load on my garmin etrex if I have the time. I just dump a whole bunch in the area I may be going or that I frequent. High Mountain in Wayne I'm assuming? If so, there are a good amount there. Also, how is it mountain biking there? I frequent Mahlon, but the hills suck for...

    Geocaching

300+. I love hiking to get geocaches but when I am biking alone sometimes I will glance down at the gps and see if there are any near. If it requires a tremendous amount of bushwacking I won't do it with my bike but if it is close to the trail I will. I love some of the really creative caches...

    More natural tick repellent

Those suckers don't drown.. That much I know! Washing works because it takes about an hour in the dryer to dry. Ten won't kill them on high heat? Then I must be awful lucky this year! :hmmm: These things remind me like mini-cock roaches that can get anywhere and everywhere.... Until you get em...

    More natural tick repellent

If you are worried about ticks getting around the home, I resort to stripping everything off the moment I walk through the door. Extreme heat will kill them, so I stick my clothing in the washer immediately or if I am not doing laundry soon, stick them dryer for 5-10 minutes to kill anything on...

    Mahlon Dickerson Reservation Conditions

I didn't stay out for too long today, but road Mahlon.. For the most part, the trails are in pretty good condition. A couple of wet patches on yellow to watch out for in the beginning, but I didn't get a chance to see the rest of the trails. The main parking lot has finally been reopened, and...

    Wildlife

Lots of bunnies and snakes.. Ran into a black cub at Kittatinny State Park.. Nothing super on the bike so far. Lots of deer. Ran into sting rays, jumping fish, and horse shoe crabs kayaking..

    11:00 am today

I got there by 130... Then proceeded to embarrass myself by falling into the bushes to let another biker through... Note to self.. It may not always be flat where you stop.. LOL, foot in ditch. :D Anyway.. Had a blast for my first time here!

    Newbie saying hey!

Thanks all! I'm lucky that I have a diverse amount of trails to chose from where I live.. Nothing is too far of a drive. I saw the beginner rides and I am excited! Just trying to get my endurance up. Wouldn't want to be the snail holding everyone back !!!

    Geocaching

I have found a stone owl in one. That was my favorite. Most of them have some weird trinkets, a lot of the tradeable items are aimed toward children who may be accompay you. Theadventure is trying to find some of the well hidden ones. Some require climbing trees or through some caves and some...

I love geocaching! I just started to do it on the bike! I definitely agree. It always made hiking more interesting, and gives you a goal to achieve.

    Newbie saying hey!

Hey there! I've been checking around this site for a short period of time and it has already been very helpful... I just started riding about 4 weeks ago. I used to ride when I was a kid, but I have been trying to save up for a bike all year. I got an entry level Jamis trail x2 for now, and...
