Kona or Surly Steel Road Bike

Paddy Wagon, Long Haul Trucker, etc. Size 54 - 57cm. Can only afford about $400 (will consider a swap for my 2006 Cannondale Prophet with lefty fork, needs about $100 - $150 dollars in parts for optimum riding).

    Wounded Black Bear

Manny - thanks, I saw the post. I also placed a post on the Appalachian Bear Rescue asking if they can direct me to a local resource for help. I've also contacted the Woodlands Wildlife Resource since they're NJ based and claim to help injured/orphaned bears. Did you happen to see or hear the...

    Wildlife

Riding through Waway last weekend, an animal hisssed at me behind some thicket. Never saw what it was. It may have been a snake or cat but it sounded too big to be either. I pedaled as fast as my legs could cycle.

    Protest ride irony

Since this thread got political .... The govt is not some abstract, mysterious entity that restricts individual liberty but an instrument of the public collective. When the govt legislates against helmetless riding, its the voice of the citizentry acting through their democratic process. And...

    Usbr

I tried a bike commute on the west coast years ago and even in no rain sunny socal, it was a dubious enterprise. My journey started 1.5 hours before work with a bike ride to the gym which took almost an hour . Packed in my bag were any work related materials, a complete casual outfit and a...

Please pencil me in. I'm out of shape, heavier than normal, and have the reflexes of a claymation figurine but I've always wanted to do Sourland.

    Max HR?

I've heard of Hardtale's prowress on a bike and I'm slow like aged Kentucky whiskey so I'm not sure these numbers are an accurate indicator of much. I'll take Ed's advice and set up a baseline. Hey Hardtale, with a high max HR, I wonder if you can perform a physical activity with...

    Max HR?

Anyone help with a calculation for max HR? I bought a HR monitor to help lose the 20lbs gained since 2006 and according to two quick tests (step up and stand up), my max HR is around 197. I took the monitor out for a ride today (haven't had too many of these in awhile) and my HR peaked at...

Hi Freeride, thanks for responding. I'm actually putting this out for a client who's looking for an ASP developer - I'm just the go-between since I've worked with her quite a bit over the years. I'll definitely keep you in mind if something comes up - please PM me your skills.

Freelance ASP.NET Developer - Project not firm yet but

if it goes green, we'll need an ASP.NET developer, preferably who codes in C#, who can integrate web apps with Microsoft SQL Server. I can't say much about it for the moment other than the project will likely start in mid November and it is a short-term commitment for one project - provided...
