Yep!! As I JUST found out…the trolleys I just bought from Amazon hit the lags I’m using to mount the unistrut 🤦🏻🤦🏻 And I’m using low profile Spax lags.. Oh well, prob just return them and look for something with smaller bearings.

Nice! I just got a couple trolleys in the mail from Amazon...Just waiting on my Park hooks. I'm happy with the gear blocks hooks, but want to try making my own as well. Since these have openings on either end, I may try to rig something up for hanging a wheelset on each trolley.

    Sliding bike storage rack

So far, for me, in practice it's not much of an issue. I loaded up the rack a couple days ago w/ more bikes & wheels & it's been great. Granted, I do just have to be a little careful when walking by & not smacking the bars & hence moving the bikes, but so far, so good. Having used mine for a...

What have you done to your bike today?

Broke this ol' gal out of the shed today...'92 R400. Some years back I swapped the downtube shifters for some vintage Campy gear that works great to this day. Threw on some new GP5000s & new tubes. Gotta take my main bike in for some work, so need to do a few training rides on this one.

    Sliding bike storage rack

If anybody cares...here's a quick update to my storage rack: The owner of the company that makes the hooks was nice enough to send me another set of 4 after seeing my video...so, decided to do a little update.

Yeah, I agree with you...just couldn't find anything actually showing them turning. That said, just saw this pic which has it spun the opposite direction:

I may be wrong, but looking thru the instructions & all the info on 1up's site, it doesn't look like these hooks swivel (if that's what anyone is looking for). It looks like they're spring loaded and then lock into place in the track...at least from what I can see in the instructions. For...

Mine do not... The company I bought from sells parallel or perpendicular fixed hooks. The previous posts in this thread are some ideas for fabbing up swivel hooks for unistrut. Looks like it should be an easy hack using some unistrut trolleys found on Amazon. I may give it shot at some point.

Yeah, that's a bummer about the set-up...I will be picking up some hooks that go parallel since I can fit more stuff beyond the garage door rail. I bet someone could rig something so that the hook spins in some 3d printed mold w/ wheels...It very well could be out there somewhere...

I went with the large hooks. If you have standard road wheels, you’d likely be fine with the smaller hooks. My road wheels are deep aero wheels which might be ok with the standard but the larger hooks have more wiggle room. 👍🏻

Thought I'd share a little project I just wrapped up. Had bikes on fixed hooks on the ceiling, but wanted to be able to move them around a bit and have them on a slider. The commercially available systems I came across were either more than I wanted to spend or wouldn't work with my garage...
