2026 Gravity Season (races, freeride events, etc.

The trails in the Davis area run through a number of areas operated by different land authorities that have their own rules. However, because the trails often cross between these different areas without much in the way of the rider knowing, the general rule of "don't be a dick..." applies. We...

2026 Gravity Season (races, freeride events, etc.

Definitely. I've been to Davis and Big Bear Lake a few times and the trails there are incredible and generally e-bike friendly. There are a couple at Davis with "no-assist" signs, but from what I gather it's a rule that isn't enforced. Big Bear Lake is heaven for an e-bike, although maybe not...

The Queen got a neo-classic Convertible

Looks like E-Trailer has a few hitch options for the Lyriq. I'm still waiting for a moderately priced EV van or minivan... That would be the vehicle that would best suite my needs in a daily driver. While I have a 1up rack for my MINI, it's still not my preferred way to transport my bikes.

2026 Gravity Season (races, freeride events, etc.

A little closer to home, the West Virginia Enduro Series has been quietly turning into a pretty cool series. A few of my teammates have done them and have had great things to say about them. The 2026 schedule has been announced: https://www.wvenduroseries.com/events

2026 Gravity Season (races, freeride events, etc.

Well... I guess we can get this thread started again... 2026 Hardline Tasmania rider list announced. With the somewhat "surprise" addition this year being Aaron Gwin. Although I suppose it makes sense he might go to both Hardline events next year with his reduction in World Cup races...

    E-bikes are a thing

That's basically what I mean - these are the equivalent of those old 50cc minibikes, but because they don't make the same amount of noise, parents don't think of them that way and consider them "safe".

    Coil curious

There are times when I wish I'd kept my old Manitou Dorado 29 (175mm travel). It was pretty light by dual crown fork standards and small bump compliance is really good for an air sprung fork with a hydraulic ramp-up system that makes the fork feel bottomless...

    E-bikes are a thing

I wonder how many of these parents received 50cc minibikes when they were kids... these are basically the modern equivalent of those. Only the e-motos are more capable.

DJI may be banned in the USA Via Drones..

Interesting indeed, given how many content creators I know of in the US that use DJI drone and video products. Might not affect the e-bikes since that appears to be a separate company - Avinox.

Post a picture of your next bike part or mtb gear on order!

Ooo... 8mm upgrade bolt... I didn't know about that - thanks! Unfortunately, not in stock right now, but that would make life a bit easier and be one less tool I'd have to cart around.

Post a picture of your next bike part or mtb gear on order!

Congrats! Be sure to clean the fixing bolt for the eeWings really well and apply a bit of blue thread locker on it. Also, the tool included with the cranks kinda sucks and I recommend picking up a triple-square MT16 bit like this one or similar.

Tell me where you rode today...

Forgot to post this yesterday... blew my legs out again trying to do a trail ride on the Megatower... Recovery on the e-bike today, although I didn't realize the power profile was completely reset and changed with the new motor...

    Tariffs...what to make of them.

Definitely. I'm not planning to buy much until this all gets sorted out. There is still a reasonable chance the whole tariff thing gets ruled unconstitutional and then there will be a massive shit-show as they try to figure out how to refund everyone... Find a way to keep your receipts. You...

    Tariffs...what to make of them.

My calculation is based on the tariff only on the actual item, not the total purchase price. This is based on what I've filled out when shipping items overseas and filling out the USPS customs form. "Usually" the tariff is only on the declared value of the item being imported and does not...

    Tariffs...what to make of them.

Ok... so depending on what the Euro-$ exchange rate is, that appears to be around a 25% tariff. Ouch.
