Yes, the beginning 150-200' is nasty, but after that it's fine. If you keep left on the fire road, soon there will be "Beer can" campsite on your right and from there starts a singletrack that mostly goes N-E, parallel to the road, and joins the Ringwood-Ramapo trail.

Well, nobody rides there, not even on the map, but for what it's worth... There's a huge tree and multiple smaller ones on top of it, - on an unnamed trail right by Turtle pond (that branches off Duck pond trail, it's south of lot C). The access is super easy if one parks illegally on Skylands...

Are you sure it's open? When I pass by at 12-12:30 there are cars already lined up for pick-up and the buses are leaving. I think they end school day around this time.

I think it's Black Bear trail where a big tree went down last summer. Nice job! If you continue from Black Bear to parking lot С, there's a pond there called Frog pond, but the nearby trail on some maps is marked as Duck pond trail.

As for hiking only trails - Cooper Union at the intersection with Carletondale Rd. is marked as such.

It takes a major storm to seriously harm riding in RSP, and even than it will be mostly due to fallen trees, not mud. Few days of rain usually result in a few muddy spots on singletrack and puddles on some roads, like Millie White from Potake to Lower Ruins.

The Trail Map thread on this forum gives a link to the latest map that shows almost the whole R-R trail, except may be for the last few hundred yards before it joins Hoeferlin.
