    The Covid effect.

DT makes thread about his current situation post COVID. People ask him about his long term plan in regard to the long commute he mentions in the op. DT: What was the point of this thread? Did DT think we'd all just come in to shit on NJ with him?

    Biggest loser

I've ballooned up to 200 again. I have basically no hope without being able to exercise though...I just can't muster the discipline to be perfect diet when I'm not active. The margins are razor thin without riding to give me some leeway. I feel for anyone that's smaller and has to keep their...

Best bike trends //2024 bike edition

It definitely feels like we reached the limits of longer/slacker trend. The diminishing returns have been found. I expected to hate the Revel Ranger with it's 67.5° HTA but it was fun as hell. Snappy and still quite capable. I'm sure someone will make it but count me out for a 120mm travel 64°...

Best bike trends //2024 bike edition

I'm not anti e bikes, not by a long shot. I just don't care about them like I don't care about dirt bike suspension or pickle ball racquet reviews.

What are the WORST new bike trends for 2024

They're amazing, Pretty freaky to have a normal conversation while still hearing music clearly as well. I ride on the road with them too, way safer than 1 ear bud.

Best bike trends //2024 bike edition

Let's seeeeee.... Raised reverse stems, saddle position switcher, inverted forks (not new, but coming back), hidden shocks inside frames, poly spokes, magnetic clipless pedals, droppers that go up and down by themselves, fork bleeder valves, mixed wheel bikes, flip switches on frames..

Best bike trends //2024 bike edition

Going down the list...some of those are uh...not new for 2024. UDH is my pick. Even if you don't want transmission...there being a semblance of an industry standard should be a welcome change. If 80% of companies feel the pressure from SRAM that's a win.

Trying to think of a reason you couldn't in that case just use a pair of bone conduction headphones?

    Let’s talk dropper posts

I do. I apparently was one of the first purchases according to WT back in December 2022. My post went limp after a year of use, ~70 hours? Contacted WT, shipped the post to them in Minnesota, they did a full service on the post and replaced the oil with what they use now...all free of charge...

What have you done to your bike today?

Thin grips (ODI Ruffian) gave me trigger finger pretty bad last Summer. Took a while for me to resolve it. Now I won't use anything <32mm with a preference of 34mm. Could be due to bike fit as well with too much pressure falling on your hands.

    The Covid effect.

Essex County border of Morris. I used to drive to basically the entire state during rush hour for my last position, I'm just about as well versed in NJ traffic as it comes. It's obviously worse in Hudson/Bergen but compared to Chicagao/NYC/LA, it's a country road.

    The Covid effect.

Traffic is obviously bad here but it certainly gets worse than NJ....by magnitudes.

    The Covid effect.

Column A, Column B. 43% increase in membership will do that. They've added 16% more stores (741 to 861) in that time frame. You're not wrong though, shopping does seem more spread out during the day. I'm was out of retail by the time COVID hit but I'd be curious to dig into that data.
