Ok yeah I remember exactly who you were...are. We rode in a train of maybe 7 people for quite a while and I think pretty much everyone else blew up, not just you. That spot in the race started taking people out left & right.
I had been warned a lot about this course ending so I was mentally prepared for a rough ending. It lived up to the name between mile 28 and 28.5, then it dialed back to a reasonable amount of rocks. The way @jShort had described it was pretty accurate. There was a brutal set of rocks, then you...
You must be the guy in the EPS jersey? If so, yeah we sort of went back & forth all day but around that 25 mile mark, you did look like you were about to walk off into the woods and dump honey on your head then start looking for bears.
D and I are probably going. I will be taking it easy tonight so we can hang out at the back together. No worries on being left to fend for yourself against the coyotes.
Still plan on going. I also hope to beat last years time of DNS. So long as I ride for 1 second, it'll be a win.
It's a long bike ride for me, nothing more. The concept of "racing" does not apply to me here.
The trees around here are still in "slowly budding" mode. We're going to need a few days of warm weather to fast forward that process and get the trees drinking up water. It seemed to come early (ish) then some cold weather slowed that down. I've seen a lot of smaller/underbrush popping up...
Yeah frankly I don't care what bike I rent so long as it's enough for the trails. I seem to remember one of us renting a Trek somewhere along the line. It was fine.
The thoughts about cost & destinations are valid ones. I'm heading out to Vegas next month and I may rent so I can ride Bootleg...
Mine works without Connect open even in the background. I just checked all my open apps and confirmed it’s not running and probably hasn’t been for a while. My ride last week uploaded without issue magically on its own.
90-95% of the time mine does the needful automagically.
D seems to be the total opposite.
There seems to be no rhyme or reason as to why. Good luck, and remember blue bubbles rule.
