    Science is looking up

Before, I couldn't understand why people would go to such extreme lengths to see a total eclipse. But after seeing it in person I get it now! Plus the amazing weather was a bonus. Being in the totality is a completely different experience from even 99%

    Science is looking up

Burlington will probably be one of the best spots to watch it because in the afternoon the sun will be over the lake. We watched the fireworks at Foam Brewers last year and it was like heaven! We're going to daytrip from Killington up to Stowe on Monday. I figure Stowe won't be quite as...

    Sourlands Mountain Preserve Conditions

Rode yesterday. The upper trails are mostly very dry, however there are some big mud sections in the usual locations. The pipeline is mostly dry. I had to switch sides of the trail a few times to avoid mud but I was able to climb and stay clean.

    E-bikes are a thing

They are very popular for group bike tours such as Backroads. Most people on those tours can't ride the full distance on a regular bike and since they are basically sight seeing tours you want to see as much as possible.

    The Covid effect.

I still can't believe how much more we pay in property tax compared to other states (except NY) 10-20x more than many states, but they say our schools are slightly better... At least we have great bagels here!

    E-bikes are a thing

I always wondered why Cannondale always had these new innovations but the rest of the bike industry never really followed them. I figured maybe they had fantastic patent lawyers but apparently their ideas didn't always work that well. (or would break)

Is the inflated Bike market finally crashing?

Walmart bikes do serve a useful purpose. Often, kids who go to college far from home will buy a Walmart bike at the beginning of the semester to ride around campus and just abandon it at the end of the year. It's cheaper than shipping a bike each way and who cares if it's left outside or stolen.

Is the inflated Bike market finally crashing?

Could part of the decline be that most parents just buy their kid a Walmart bike now? The BMX bike my parents got me was from a bike shop because the cheap Walmart bikes didn't exist then.
