Anyone make the jump to starlink yet?

No issues tonight with Disney+. Streaming their ultra hd IMAX blah blah blah thing. It uses a lot of bandwidth in bursts but the buffer seems to work fine with short interruptions. I did get disconnected once earlier this evening when it was a longer outage that caused the device to stop...

Also the goal zero lasted from 10:30am to around 6pm. Not too shabby. With a 100 watt solar panel input and a sunny day I should be able to run it all the time.

Also I am doing a test today to see how long the dish will last on a Goal Zero lithium battery. I started at 10:29am and the battery is down to approximately 60%. It uses around 50 watts without any network activity. Once the router starts routing traffic the wattage increases to around 75-85 watts.

Anyone make the jump to starlink yet?

The original intent of my purchasing Starlink service was to be able to drive around out west without fear of ever having a problem getting in touch with people in case of emergency. I placed the order at my Park City address and within a few hours I was accepted into the beta and shipped the...

Anyone make the jump to starlink yet?

You need to be on the same network as the starlink for the app to work. Just like Zwift, etc. The app and router don't have advanced features. You really just set the network SSID and password. Plus it has some pre-heat stuff for the dish. You can also "stow" for transport. Meet me somewhere...

Anyone make the jump to starlink yet?

It is a proprietary connection from the dish to the power supply and their router. You need the adapter in order to use a different router. They consolidated it for their next generation. It actually is disappointing that they took away the simplicity of the original one.

Hey it was a nice little project. But it's incredible how simple the tech has become. Literally put it up. Plug it in and within 5 minutes it lines up and you're online. I'm keeping mine mobile because I'm hoping I could probably come to some races somewhere where there's no internet and...

Nice! Post some screen shots of your speed tests I'm curious how it is. You have the new lighter dish. Make sure it's secure. Don't end up on Reddit with a busted dish. They break easily.
