Posting my older Kona for sale - I’ve posted about it before and putting in the bits and pieces section because the swing arm has a hairline crack that I repaired. It is very well used but someone handier than me can certainly make use of some parts or tube it up and ride it.
Im in Bridgewater
I’ve got an older Kona One20 that is very well used (guessing about 13 yes). It still rides, shifts, suspensions work, couple of new tires. But it’s so old I can’t find something to compare it to.
Also, there was/ is a small hairline crack at a weld on the swing arm but that hasn’t impacted my...
When I brought that up at the LBS, he said that it then needs to be heat treated after the weld. I know less about welding than gears and derailleur so took his word for it.
Is that possible, just a quick weld?
I'd love to be able to simply swap out the part. Given the age of the bike, input from the guy at Halter's, and no response on Pinkbike, I don't have much hope.
If this part can be found, I would love to get my hands on it!
It is an '09 Kona One 20. Finding a replacement swing arm would be dynamite! I went to Halters who is a Kona dealer, posted here in the Wanted section, and on Pink Bike; no luck.
I don't think the crack is causing the shifting issue. It is small and isn't flexing to cause the kind of...
Anybody in the Bridgewater area work on bikes 'on the side'?
Brought my bike into the LBS for spring setup and they found a small crack at the weld in the rear swing arm. I am looking into a new bike, but in the meantime my bike still needs some help because I am having minor shifting issues...
Thanks Kirt. I figured it shouldn't be an issue, but wanted to be sure.
Initially they said they'd probably have to send the whole frame back; and I didn't like the idea of the whole bike coming apart and being put back together again on a new frame.
Bought a Kona 120 in June '09 from LBS. Last week the chain stay cracked on the weld. I brought it back LBS where I bought it (i have receipt, etc.).
They called Kona for warranty, Kona says they don't make the 120 anymore, and don't have any new parts. So they're sending out a "very good...
I'm headed out for a 7:30AM if anyone wants to join.
Plan on riding white, red, and blue trails leaving from Newmans lane lot.

How do they work? I get my share of flats, and want to know if I should regular tube, one of the new super thick tubes, Slime in a tube, or the Slime built into the tube.... Anybody using them and are they working?
I'm in Bridgewater. I saw the H2H Race Series schedule and Lewis Morris is close but the rest are near to the NY border.
Are there races in or near Somerset County?
I was the guy who was not properly equipped riding my 5 yr old entry level Trek. It is blue.
My equipment learnings were:
1. A rubber band does not hold a Poland Spring bottle in the holder very long. I was extremely thirsty by the end of the race.
2. Wear shoes that are secured to your...
