    Water Bottles won’t fit.

bought a Scott Scale size M after a 6 year road only period. Loving the trails again. Silly question since I’ve been away so long. MY water bottles are too tall for the frame using the locations for them on the frame. The down tube just barely and the seat tube forget about it. Any options? I...

Pixie, you have a point/question I was thinking....now that I’m so “up” can being so up or lax cause the same issues"

    Neck Pain, Always Fit??

I know it’s mtb Forum but about 95 percent. I use the CX bike for flow trails like Mercer and Clayton and the canal when muddy. I want to add this is on a new bike I built up in the winter, steel frame. The first 100 or so miles had zero pain, now it’s always hurting, so I assumed fit, changed...

    Neck Pain, Always Fit??

Hey, I started to develop neck pain on the road bike. Starts about 20 miles in. I am asking if it is possible to get neck pain without it being a fit issue? Yes fit is everything, and J at Halters is amazing at fitting as he fitted me on my CX bike I bought there. BUT, I want to know from your...

    D&R Canal from Bordentown - who's familiar?

Grrrr this always eluded me. Where did you start in Btown? I live in Bordentown and always wondered. I know I stumbled upon a website on the World Wide Web once that had details. You have to go under the 295 overpass by the yacht club right? Where ppl fish n make love in the woods??? UTT Anyone?

    Bike trailers for a baby

Question, do they still make those road bike style ones where it’s up in the air above the rear wheel like a car seat. My pops used to take me around in one back in the day and this thread made me wonder in today’s uber safe world if they are still used or are they now considered as bad as lawn...

    Electronic vs mech drivetrain

Disc brakes won’t make anyone faster on the road. Mainly due to brakes are meant for slowing a bike. But the industry and LBS will disagree. Also very very very compliant! Buy buy buy at your LBS. FEED THEM. FEED

    Electronic vs mech drivetrain

Grrrr you have a point. So where is the line drawn between truths and industry brainwashing. No one here would actually benefit from a 1 by unless there are “simple”. Now that’s a fact.

    Electronic vs mech drivetrain

I really mean no internet harm to you two. That crazy AK ride you do. Something like that makes sense for eagle. I think most eagle doesn’t apply unless it’s the heckler or something.

    Electronic vs mech drivetrain

Seat posts, camel backs, sunglasses, socks. I mean no disrespect but ask any old roadies from the 70s if they rather have 1x12 or 2x11 what do you think they’d awnser with their non compliant 1 inch non tapered steerers. The bike industry is a joke we all know that. Don’t feed the animals!

    Electronic vs mech drivetrain

JimV and Fiodie you guys are gods. Especially with that Alaska stuff. As far as compliant I’m saying how the industry sells everything on that term. Excluding gearing. But seat

    Electronic vs mech drivetrain

And... don’t forget if you buy this bike at your LBS, it will be more “complient”. Spelling aside my favorite bike industry word. Yes yes spend spend spend. The eagle is more like a sparrow

    Electronic vs mech drivetrain

That’s what I’m saying! Still don’t get it, unless you’re avoiding the pits in CX run a 2 by and have top bottom and even side to side. They sell everyone for simple but just tune if it’s funky? On the trail if mud prevents your FD from working that you’re probably preventing others from...

    Electronic vs mech drivetrain

Gotta ask...why all the hype with everyone over the “1 by’s”? Umm that’s only 12 run a 2x11 that’s 22. Unless it’s cross, it’s absolutely pointless. Clean that sh!t and tune, ain’t that hard. Another generation of the bike industry and LBS. Troll as hell but true. Rick go 2 by electro. And if the...

    Electronic Mechs

I think stb222 and jimv have it right. For me when I was pricing out parts, I was like wow I can afford Ultegra and Dura now, thank you Di2 for lowering the prices of mechanical. Financially it just don’t make sense yet for most. So I’ll continue to hide in the cave and adjust time to time. BUT...

    The Indoor Garden Thread!

Fidodi I like it! I want to do “Irish moss” ground cover in a section of my yard this year but all the websites won’t ship plants until April/may. Being impatient as I am I was able to order a heap of seeds, a ton of plastic “cells” and some indoor germination soil and my goal is to get these...

Disc brakes vs rim brakes on road bike?

Beautiful 1shot! Is that the smoothie? I was torn between the 2. But most importantly to me was 28c/30c with no issues so I went ES.

Disc brakes vs rim brakes on road bike?

When I got into road riding, I was drawn to the simplicity of a road bike. In my eyes a proper roadie will always have rim brakes BUT that said there’s some sick designs out with disc and they defentaly have their place as everyone above said. I have a CX bike from Halters that has disc n love...
