    New Fat Tires ?

I'll revive this post instead of starting a new one since its close... I just picked up 4.8JJ's to replace the stock FBF/FBR 26x4's that came with my bike.. I'm wondering the pros and cons of running the 4" FBF on the front with a 4.8" JJ on the back? I'm looking at this combo for a...

Volunteer thread: freeze/thaw season closure / gates signage

I think something simple like this for a QR couldn't hurt. At the trail heads and maybe some along the trails at some of the intersections.

Volunteer thread: freeze/thaw season closure / gates signage

I threw these together as FB/IG posts to put up on the sites, but yea... I can ad QR codes too if these are going up at the trails. While searching for sign ideas I found this old post: https://www.mtbnj.com/forum/threads/fundraiser-for-new-trail-signs-stay-off-that-mud.46646/ Just curious if...

And one more because I'm clearly bored, and managed to get Gnarly Marly the Six Mile Moose in the picture.

Just because there's nothing good on TV tonight.. and I may have taken some creative liberties with a similar sign I found online.

    Chimney Rock Conditions

Just did a quick ride through white and red, both are in good condition- a few soft spots, more so on red, its definitely rideable. Blue seems pretty good too, didn’t ride it but saw someone come out and they said it was ok. Hopefully the rain tomorrow and Friday doesn’t kill it for the entire...

Volunteer thread: freeze/thaw season closure / gates signage

I'm in.. I have some graphic design experience in my background. Distant, but its still there. And I would reluctantly help with some trail maintenance. And looks like we have a moose mascot. Gnarly Marly, the Six Mile Mud Moose. (TM)

I need to vent or put up hypotheticals about 6MR and mud riders.

What citation and fine? What is the violation? Basically, its coming down to that it simply is not legally closed. Not for nothing, but the closure in the winter months is no different than if an unauthorized person went there and put up a closed sign on July 1st and said it was closed for...

I need to vent or put up hypotheticals about 6MR and mud riders.

Looks like PA puts out a clear message saying the trails are closed to mountain bikers at Nox. I don’t know if they have cops patrolling the grounds, but if they do it clearly states they are closed and that’s easily enforceable. NJ on the other hand puts up a generic message saying they are...

I need to vent or put up hypotheticals about 6MR and mud riders.

Again, it comes back to is it legally closed or just closed because the fine folks who maintain the park don’t want anyone there (and rightfully so). If it’s legally closed then anyone there is trespassing and would be fined accordingly.

I need to vent or put up hypotheticals about 6MR and mud riders.

I'll preface what I'm going to ask by saying that only do I not ride Six Mile when its closed, if I see someone on FB (or elsewhere) ask, I post a link to the SixMilers group with the status saying its closed to deter people from riding it until its ready. (Same with Nassau as they've publicly...

    Manitou Mastodon, anyone have one?

Just got in my first ride with it at Lewis Morris and loved it. I can't compare to how it would have felt on that trail with a rigid fork, but I noticed the suspension and it felt like a regular mountain bike. I hit 4 PRs on climbs, can't say that was the fork but I could definitely see why...

    Manitou Mastodon, anyone have one?

It’s not the fork that excite me, it’s the stickers that came in that box that makes it so exciting.

Has anyone been out to Trex since the snow? Curious what the trail conditions are there.
