Things that make you smile :)

Golf courses disguise the fields they use to coordinate troops.
as long as they stay off the greens!

There is a nice one at Picatinny.
That sounds like what the officers told the budget office to get a golf course... "Yeah... all of those open fields will be used for troop training... Right."

My ex's father was an engineer at Picatinny for 30+ years... I think he was involved with the Picatinny Rail development. The irony being the family was not really into guns at all other than a .22 rifle he had at the farm to grave an errant ground hog that would get into his garden.

In a previous life, I worked at a comicbook store in Levittown, PA and the store shared back-room space with Positively Records next door. At the time, the owners kept two cats at the store, which was awesome. Once in a while, one of them would wander over to our store and hang out for a bit. The younger female was smaller and more into being held and sometimes she would jump onto my back and sit on my shoulders as I rung up customers.

Coincidentally, I left that job 30 years ago this month to start my current life in the engineering world...

In my parent’s town there is a bookstore where this critter lives.

He is super friendly and the hardest working employee at the store as you can tell below.

Saw 2 different kids today hauling lawn mowers behind their fatbikes drumming up business reminds me of when i was a kid oh so long ago
About 12 years ago my son and his friend walked door to door through our town with rakes asking trying to clean up leaves in the Fall. Walked for hours before they got a single taker. When I was a kid I guarantee half the people on my block would have said yes, even if they barely needed it.
