The Indoor Cyclist's support thread

Last year I had a professional training coach for 6 months leading into the Cancer charity ride (first time ever having a cycling coach) and the majority of his training plan was endurance and SST intervals with some occasional Z4+ type efforts.

Occasionally you will see a workout like this:

Ride for 3 hours at L2/L3 pace
Every 15 minutes do a 30-60 second all out sprint
Go home and rest

Many people think the 30-60 second sprint is what the target is. Every coach will tell you the whole point if this is to get you out there for 3 hours. You can replace "all out sprint" with "do 5 hail marys" or "sing a song of sixpence" and it'll get you the same results.

exactly!

When I started I only entered Monkey Knife as my A event. With Improve gravel climbing.

Will switch to Xc training after April 11th

I also hated using the TR app. Following the blue line was so lame.
That's why I go with ERG mode and watch a movie. Trainer time in the winter is the only time during the year I watch TV so I catch up on movies then.

So, this began happening today. Thought I might as well join the conversation.

I haven’t been on a trainer since 2018, when I did a winter of Trainer Road, prior to the last season I actually raced bikes.

Right now, I’m doing Rouvy, which has been Mrs. G’s choice for several years (that’s her Synapse next to my old cross bike).

Dumb idea invite. Going to ride all of the Routes in France tomorrow starting at 8am if anyone wants to join. Should take less time than NYC but I’m not really sure. Anywho, I think you can just click the join me thing and warp to where I am?

Are you going to ride all of France routes in one go? There is quite a bit of climbing there and half of the routes are pretty long. But I suspect you already know that. Good luck on that endeavor!
