Jorba Group Ride 1/18/2026 Crosswicks/Clayton

looks like the weather is all over the place in terms of snow/no snow/rain/ freezing rain this weekend when I check the weather forecast for the local area.

It’s about an hour 20 minute drive for me so just wondering about the decision timing for go/no go for Sundays ride. Never been there before but also prevailing local conditions here up north may pre-empt any attempt to drive down.

@pooriggy asked me to make the call.

Given the current unpredictable forecast (presently a coin flip) I plan to post an update tonight.

Currently thinking that we'll cancel the Crosswicks portion and target a 10am start at Clayton, which will free up some time in the AM to make a final call. But I'll confirm this evening once I'm more confident in the forecast for the morning.

*If the official ride get canceled due to snow/liability, there may be an unofficial snow ride 😉
 
I’m likely out we got 6” of snow here when it was forecast to be just a coating. and 2-4” predicted tmw starting around when I would get ready to drive down.

Bummer as I was all ready to get back on the MTB tmw. Don’t want to take any extra risks on new to me trails that may be slippery or icy.

Maybe see youz guys for the next one.
